Change More Lives and Make More Money With Some Simple Tweaks to your Sales Funnel

First off I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of the new subscribers and visitors that day in and day out leave their wishes for this project to move forward!

As I stated before, my main idea of the blog is to impact as many lives as possible, in a positive way, so that you can grow your business and have the lifestyle you are looking for.

Today, as part of my way of saying thanks, I wanted to share some of my experience when it comes to growing a business while still impacting lives in a positive way.

You see, I’ve been into Internet Marketing, particularly SEO, for more than 8+ years.

And over that time I’ve realized about to things:

  1. The best way to grow your business is by giving away free value (as I discussed previously on this post).
  2. Changing the world and impacting people’s lives in a positive way is extremely profitable.

So after realizing that, I’ve decided to both implement point number 1, which is giving away as much as I can.

Waking up thinking “How can I give away more of what I know so that others could benefit from it”.

And also point number 2, meaning that the more people I help, the more money my company makes and the best my lifestyle can be.

So on this post I’ll show you some simple tweaks you can make to your business’ website, your social profiles, etc., so that you can impact more people, change more lives for the better and make a ton of money in the process.

But first, let’s go through some clarification about this system and how it works.

You Already Have a Sales Funnel in Place, Whether You Know it or Not

This is the premise I always use when taking on a new project or a new client.

Whether you know it or not, you already have a sales funnel in place.

And this sales funnel is the tool you will use to impact many lives in a positive way.

Your current sales funnel includes pretty much everything you do, both online and offline.

If you have a website, you have a sales funnel.

If you are buying advertising, you have a sales funnel.

Even your receptionist picking up the phone or your support team are part of your sales funnel.

Point being that, if you want to achieve more in your business, change more lives for the better and make a lot of money while doing so, you need to consciously work on your sales funnel.

Step 1: The Genesis of a Sales Funnel

A sales funnel begins with traffic. You probably already know that.

However, I like to start with the very first interaction your visitor has with your website.

I like to call this “Your Virtual Handshake”.

And it all begins with someone landing on your website.

What do you do with the visitor the second it lands on your page?

That’s the first question you should be asking yourself if you want to have an optimized sales funnel.

What I recommend is that you do three things:

  1. Provide actual free value to the visitor so that they are enticed to stay and keep reading your content.
  2. Ask for an email address to continue the chat after the visitor leaves.
  3. Install a retargeting pixel from Facebook or AdWords so that you can later serve ads to your new visitors.

I will talk about #2 and #3 shortly.

But first, have in mind that it all begins with providing good valuable content.

Continuing with the “handshake” analogy:

How firm is your handshake?

The more valuable content you have on your website, the better your handshake will be.

I see many marketers or webmasters trying to push a sale the minute the visitor lands on a website.

And that’s usually a hard task to accomplish.

I’m not saying you can’t sell this way, I’m just meaning it’s way more difficult to turn a completely cold visitor that doesn’t know you into a customer without some previous interaction (please refer to my 3 steps system to turn a cold visitor into a hot lead over here).

And that’s where Step 2 comes into play.

Step 2: Creating Rapport and Authority

Once you have collected an email address, it’s time to deliver some more value to the subscriber.

Have in mind that email addresses are not free anymore.

You need to offer something in return.

“Subscribe to get all my updates” just doesn’t cut it.

You need to offer something that will solve a problem right there and then.

A piece of advice of content that’s easily consumed and that your visitor can get in exchange for their email address.

This is called “Lead Magnet” and it works wonders.

Basically you want to splinter a bit of information from your main offer or product and present that freebie as the lead magnet.

For example, if you are selling flowers online, a good lead magnet could be a booklet about “Top 10 Ways of Taking Care of your Flowers and Make them Last Longer”.

If you are into fitness, “The Main 5 Foods you Need to Avoid to Gain Extra Weight” is another good example.

It can be in PDF format, a short video or audio, a cheat sheet, a mind map, etc.

The main point is that’s easily consumed and solves an immediate problem.

Once you have delivered that piece of value, it’s time to setup a “follow up sequence”.

This is simply sending emails once or twice a week to your new subscriber adding more value to his or her life.

Remember we are in the business of changing lives, so you need to make sure you are aware of that when setting up your email sequence.

For that you can use an autoresponder like Aweber or Getresponse.

Good email sequences contain new blogposts, inspirational videos, some promotions and discounts, etc.

And what happens with the retargeting pixel we installed?

Well that’s also used to provide more content to the visitor.

If you are using Facebook, for example, you can create a “Custom Audience”, comprised of people that have visited your website.

And you can serve more valuable content, insights and value via that Facebook campaign.

Step 3: Now It’s Time to Sell

As you can see, this funnel setup doesn’t push the sale up until the very end of it.

And it does so for a reason.

People usually buy from people.

And not just any people.

But people that they “Know, Like and Trust”. You probably heard this before, right?

Creating rapport and authority

Notice that all across the funnel we have been providing value, actionable insights and content that the subscriber can use to enhance their lives and solve problems.

This also positions yourself as an authority in your market.

So while people are listening, it’s time to actually sell.

Think about this for a minute:

How much easier the sale will be if you implement this steps?

How much less resistance you’ll find when selling something?

How much impact you’ve done to your audience even without selling them anything?

And this is how huge empires grow and big internet marketers are doing things.

They provide value first and sell later.

Serve first. Sell later.

That’s the main point of this funnel: to lower your costs on advertising, to amplify your impact, to allow you to change more lives and make a lot of money in the process.

Without being pitchy or salesy and without having to worry about retaining your visitor longer on your website.
