This Is How You Create A Beautiful Landing Page That Converts

Hey everybody! On this video I’ll show you some quick tips to make better converting landing pages.

2 main tips to create an amazing landing page:

1 – Landing pages are not websites: Don’t spend too much time on its design. The simpler, the better.

Don’t waste too much time since the more complicated a landing page is, the lower its conversion rate would be.

2-  Split testing is a must: There’s no escape to split testing. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Split the headline or the header: This is the 80% of your landing page, so focus on this first.
  2. Call to action: Make the button pop out and the text within it.
  3. Copy: This is not as important since you’d focus mostly on the Header and CTA.
  4. Visual features (images, videos, etc): complete your landing page with a few images and videos.

Keep theses suggestions in mind and you’ll be on your way to generate better landing pages for your business.

You know, the other day, one of my Mastermind members came and asked me, hey Hernan, if I build a better landing page, would I be more handsome? Well if you're asking that question yourself my friend, you're in for a treat because today that's what we're going to answer for you.

Hey. What's up guys, I'm Hernan Vazquez. Welcome to another video, and thank you for watching these videos. Now on this quick tutorial, I just wanted to give you two quick tips so that you could have a better landing page. So that you could have more leads and you could have … Would you excuse me for a minute, just one second.

Hey Jimmy, what the hell is all that noise, dude? I told you I'm recording a video, you can not do this anymore, yeah man you need to get out of here. Come on, now, I'm calling the cops. I'm recording a video, yeah, get out of here come on. God damn, this kid Jimmy is going to kill me.

Sorry about that guys, so as I was telling you there's two main components of a good landing page. Or rather I just want to share with you two ways of getting your landing page to the next level. So let's dive right into it.

Component number one is that a landing page is not a website. Usually this landing pages and this beautifully designed landing pages that they are not working, you send traffic to it and the traffic just bounce out of it like a ping pong ball. So what you need to have in mind is that usually simpler landing pages work really, really well.

I had this question the other day from one of my students, he was telling me, hey Hernan, we were on a call for the Mastermind session. He was telling me, hey Hernan I spent like two hours trying to design this landing page and it doesn't work. Like I'm sending traffic to these landing pages and those [inaudible 00:02:16] will not convert. Why do you know?

So the question that I came back to him was, well why on earth would you spend two hours designing a landing page that you do not know is going to convert. Isn't it better to just go ahead and work with a proven template? Isn't it better to go ahead and work with something that has been proven to convert? Isn't it better to go ahead and actually dedicate minimum time for maximum effort, as Gary Havert says, make maximum money in the minimum of time.

So my recommendation is, A, don't spend a lot of time in your landing pages, in a good way. Don't just make some crappy landing pages and put it out there, and try people to go ahead and try to like you and give you money, and love you for the rest of their life. That's not how it works.

But if you want to really be efficient with your time, what you want to do is to K-I-S-S meaning keep it super simple. It's not the other way that you were thinking, I got you thinking that. So it's K-I-S-S, the simpler a landing page usually the better. You know I made this exclusive course, which is Killer Landing Pages for my Power of marketing and my Mastermind members.

The first thing that I told them was, hey guys do not over complicate this landing page games. Your landing page doesn't need to look like a website. If you have a lot of little things going on, if you have like a dragons breathing fire coming down and grabbing the button and then throwing… That's not going to work. I'm sorry, make it simple. The simpler the better and usually landing pages that work really, really well to get more people into your funnel are the ones that are the uglier.

I know that you want to be the Gucci or the Armani of the inter marketing, or you want to be the Yves Saint Laurent of I don't know, consulting maybe. But that's not how it work my friend, the simpler is always the better, and even further in your landing pages. A landing page should be binary, either one or zero.

I don't know anything about binary code so don't quote me on that, but I think that it's about ones and zeros, right? So you either opt in or you get out. You either buy my stuff, or you get out. That's basically it, so that's exactly what you want to be doing when setting up a landing page. If you have a lot of little things going on, again like a menu, a sidebar, a picture of you and a picture of your dog, that's not going to convert.

Because people get distracted, if you have like three different options, four different bundles and five different products that's not going to work, because people get fatigued making decisions. I know that you get fatigued maybe trying to figure out what kind of underwear to wear today. Should I use the polka dots? Should I use the neon green one? I don't know.

The main point is that you want to keep it super simple. K-I-S-S works really, really well for landing pages. If you want to see a really good converting landing page, which again you can use because it's the Facebook ad's template.

You can actually click on the button below or somewhere around here and there's going to be a link so you can check that out. That's a landing page that's converting out of 45 to 50% depending on the day, and depending the mood of the Facebook god. But it's converting at that rate for cold traffic, not too shabby, right?

Number two is that you cannot avoid split testing. Split testing is not sexy, it doesn't shine, it doesn't give you money right away. It doesn't have lights, or different colors like a logo or a brand, or whatever, brand name, whatever you want to call it.

But it is necessary, in fact it's not sexy at all. It's maths, and you can even say it's science. I have a couple of scientist friends and they're kind of fun, but they're not that fun you know what I'm saying? So what you want to have in mind is that when you're doing split testing you want just to go ahead and do it. Make that a habit. If you worry about technology, like what I split test? How do I split test? Just make it super simple.

There's a four step split testing process that I always use and I'm going to tell it to you right now so that you can implement it. Number one, split the header. The headline or the header of your landing page is the number one top thing that will allow you to get more conversions. It can make or break your landing pages, like no kidding. If you're split testing a landing page go first for the headline because that's like the 80% of the entire thing.

Number two, the call to action. The button needs to pop out, it needs to be the sore thumb. If you have a blue landing page do not make the button blue, nobodies going to see it dummy. Nobodies going to click on it, okay, they would rather go back and keep watching Taylor Swift videos or something.

So make the button pop out. So the way I do this is I always play test two button colors first and then what I do is to split test the tags that's on the button. Something like get instant access, to download it right now could make a huge difference. So first the headline, second the call to action.

Number three, the copy. It's not as important as you think. I mean it is really, really important. But if you have the header laid down and if you have a button laid down you're probably squeezing it if you are focusing on the third paragraph.

Or the third sentence of the third paragraph down the fall that says mummy instead of mommy. Because you're selling mummified pets, that's not how it works. You want to work on the benefits of the headline number one. Number two on the call to action. Number three on the copy, the rest of the copy. Like you can literally have the exact same copy and you could have different header and the page will bomb or made amazingly well.

Number four, the rest of stuff, like I don't know, images, videos, your grandmother saying hi. Leave that to the bottom of the totem pole, it's not that important. People usually do it backwards, like they focus on the looks first, they focus on their grandma's picture first. They want to have this amazing landing page and they don't pay attention to the headline. We're asking ourselves why our Facebook doesn't work, it's not the Facebook it's how you do things. So have that in mind, split test is a must, click funnels come with embedded split test.

Lead pages does, Insta pages, Unbounce, try themes if you're using WordPress, whatever that is use split testing. Visual website Optimizer, Improve Lead, they all allow split testing. Hell even Facebook now will allow you to split test your ads on the fly.

So there's no escape to that, it's math, I know it sucks. It's not an exact science like Doctor Franker would say. But it is what it is and we need to play by the rules. So there you have it guys, my top two … I had to record that a couple of times by the way. My top two tips to actually go ahead and have a really good converting landing page.

If you want to check that course out, it's completely free, it's called Killer Landing Pages, it's free for Power of Marketing newsletter subscribers and Convert and Propose Mastermind students. So if you fancy taking your business to the next level, if that's something that you want to do. If you're into having more money in your pocket, or more pockets in your money whatever, you should definitely check it out.
