However, it wasn’t always like this…
These 4 pages changed my life.
It all came down to choosing between food or heating my house. Let me explain.
You ever have that overwhelming feeling that you’re not living up to your full potential?
Me too. And I decided right there and then to do something about it.
It’s why I decided to leave my cushy corporate job and the security of a nice monthly paycheck.
You should understand, I worked my butt off climbing that corporate ladder to where I was. Yet, I still had this feeling there was so much more out there.
The problem was, I was afraid. Afraid of the future. I realize now that I was letting fear influence nearly every decision up to that point in my life.
This overwhelming feeling eventually outweighed my fear.
So in 2011, I left this comfy job that I worked so hard to get. This job that paid my bills. This job that allowed me to come home, day after day, put food on the table, watch TV with my girlfriend on the couch and go to bed feeling safe. All the while knowing that the next day would be the same as today. And the day after that. Where was I really going?
It was the culmination of my whole life up to this point. And boy was I scared.
Yet, I felt driven. And to tell you the truth, the moment I made that decision it felt as if a huge weight was lifted. Suddenly, as if by magic, I could see so many possibilities. The truth is, they were always there, right in front of me.
The same is true for you too. You just have look past the fear and doubt. Right?
Well, let’s skip ahead 12 months.
I felt like I made a huge mistake. HUGE.
My girlfriend, who’s been with me from the beginning, through thick and thin, was supporting both of us. Things were so much easier when we had two paychecks coming in.
Here we were in the middle of the unforgiving cold of dead winter in Argentina. We found ourselves deciding between buying food that week or turning on the heat. We were literally counting pennies.
The worst part of all this? I still had NO CLUE how to bring in a steady stream of income. Fear and doubt were creeping in again.
I made a huge mistake leaving that cushy corporate job. Right?
Here’s the thing…
I knew there were ways to make money online. Up to this point, the best thing I could find was freelancing articles for $5 a pop. It was my only avenue for creating income.
We just had to make it through the winter.
I calculated in my head. How many articles a day do I need to write in order to get the bills paid? It seemed daunting.
But, I got to work anyway.
So here I was bundled in 4 jackets huddled over my keyboard. I wore some gloves with the fingers cut off so my hands didn’t freeze while I was typing. I just had to make it through the winter.
You probably guessed by now, we made it through that winter.
I call this time, the winter of discovery.
See, during this time… with each article I wrote for these online companies…and these successful online marketers… I was able to pick up bits and pieces of their success.
In time I found I had collected all these clues, these puzzle pieces, you will, that when put together made this huge picture of success.
Eventually, I was able to put most of these pieces together.
Yet there was still some pieces missing. Don’t get me wrong. I started to generate enough income to finally take a deep breath of relief.
Yet that feeling that started me down this path, in the beginning, kept resurfacing stronger and stronger. I was missing something.
Here’s the thing.
I learned a lot of things about online marketing.
I learned how to build websites and drive traffic to those websites.
Yet, my income was capped.
Much of my income came from affiliate marketing. This is probably the biggest reason my income was capped.
The problem was… I wasn’t generating enough sales.
I got the traffic there. But the conversions weren’t that great.
So after careful analysis, I made a huge discovery.
The sales funnels were horrible.
They were either non-existent. Too long. Too Short. Or they didn’t relate to the audience.
But if it wasn’t for affiliate marketing, I would never have discovered what I’m about to share with you.
After isolating the problems, it came down to just 4 simple pages.
- The opt-in page.
- The sales page.
- The order form.
- The thank you page.
That’s it! Simple Right? Don’t get me wrong. While this is quite simple, it wasn’t easy figuring this out.
I spent a lot of man-hours, and money getting these 4 pages just right.
Today, I get to travel the world. Meet new people. Learn new things.
This is a long way from huddling over my keyboard, hungry and trying not to freeze.
I pick and choose the projects I work on.
I participate in Charities that help send kids to school and plant trees.
